Lehigh Post Office Now Using Email AlertsThe Lehigh University Post Office had launched an email alert system for students receiving packages.
The Post Office has implemented a package email alerts system for all Lehigh students who have mailboxes in the Ulrich Student Center. The new system came out of a request from Student Senate for a better way to alert students when packages arrive. Additionally, to maximize student mail delivery, new window hours at the post office are 9am to 4pm.
The old notification system entailed students receiving pink slips of paper in their mailboxes that they would take to the post office service window and then show IDs and claim their packages. The new system will send email notifications to the students’Lehigh email addresses when a package is received.
The new notification system, effective October 1, will send emails the same day the package is delivered to the post office. Students will know by 1pm if a package is waiting to be picked up. Students will still need IDs to pick up their packages. Additionally, to maximize student mail delivery, new window hours at the post office are 9am to 4pm.
For the month of September only, a student who receives a package will be notified by a pink mailbox notification slip. Starting October 1, notification will be by emails only and the pink slips will no longer be used.###
