New handicapped spots installed at all Greek Life housing
BETHLEHEM, PA (September 12, 2012) This past summer, handicapped parking spots and entrances were added to all Greek Life housing at Lehigh University. These additions ensure that the entire Lehigh campus meets the guidelines set forth by the Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights.
Throughout Lehigh’s campus, Transportation and Parking Services offers 78 handicapped parking spots. When parking at metered handicapped spots, the meter does not need to be fed if valid handicapped permit is shown.
“We hope that all Lehigh students, faculty, staff and visitors will continue to respect the need handicapped parking spots on campus,” states Chris Christian, director of Lehigh Transportation and Parking Services. “We strive to provide a pleasant parking experience for everyone on campus.”
Violators will have their car towed at the owner’s expense and will be subject to a $100 fine. The state maximum for this fine is $300.
