What is H-1B Cap OPT extension?

H-1B Cap OPT Extension is an automatic extension between OPT end date and H-1B start date on October 1 for those whose H-1B is approved through “cap subject”

How to apply ?

To apply for automatic OPT extension, you must submit a coy of the I-797 H-1B receipt or approval notice to ISS. A new I-20 with OPT extension will be mailed to you.
