Cracking an Unsolved Civil War Cipher

Abstract
The goal of our project is to write a program that can grade texts based on their resemblance to proper English. This could be used to narrow-down the possible decryptions of a message from the civil war, which is output by Professor Lopresti's previously written programs.
Bio
Rebecca Rovner is a Senior at Lehigh University majoring in Computer Science and Engineering coupled with a minor in Graphic Design. For her senior project in computer science Rebecca along with her partner Young Suk assisted Professor Lopresti in decrypting a document from the civil war. In addition to her academic work in the fields of Computer Science and Graphic Design Rebecca is involved with the Greek community at Lehigh. She is an active member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. Next year she will be joining KPMG this fall after receiving an offer to work in their Advisory department.
