CHOICES is a program that takes place on Lehigh University’s campus in the spring and summer of every year. C.H.O.I.C.E.S. stands for "Charting Horizons and Opportunities in Careers in Engineering and Science". Our Spring CHOICES program is a day-long event in which sixty middle school girls from local schools participate. The girls take part in a series of engineering based presentations and hands-on experiments. SWE takes the roll of mentoring the girls throughout the day in running morning ice breakers, giving the presentations, facilitating the experiments, acting as tour guides, and having lunch with them.
There is also a summer CHOICES program. This program is a week long and is strictly run by the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering due to the fact that it takes place at a time when SWE is not active on campus . If you will be in the area in the summer and would like to take part in the program, please feel free to contact Shaku Jain-Cocks. More information can be found from the 2008 Feminism in Practice conference presentation.
