Lehigh Graduate Students
Matriculated Lehigh graduate students do not need to apply for summer admissions to take summer courses. They may register on Banner beginning on April 2. For billing to the home address, students must register by May 1 for full and first session courses. For billing to the home address, second session students must register by June 3.
Non-Lehigh Graduate Students
Non-Lehigh graduate students must be admitted to a college, department, or program before they can register for summer graduate credits. There are three categories of graduate student at the University: Regular graduate student status is for those students seeking a degree. Associate graduate student status is for students who wish to seek a degree, but who do not meet all of the requirements for full graduate status. It may also be used by students who apply too late to receive full graduate status for the upcoming semester or summer term. Finally, many programs at the University allow students to apply for Non-Degree status. As the name suggests, non-degree status is used for students who wish to take one or more courses at Lehigh but who are not seeking a degree.
International Graduate Students
International students seeking graduate admission at Lehigh must meet all of the same requirements as domestic students, and provide an acceptable TOEFL score (individually set by each College) along with evidence that they have obtained the proper visa. For assistance with visas, students should contact the Office of International Education at (610) 758-4859 or at the Office's web-site: www.lehigh.edu/~intnl/intnl.html.
Open Schedule Courses (Graduate Only)
During summer 2008 Lehigh University is offering a limited number of “open schedule” courses. Open schedule courses do not follow regular academic year or summer calendars, and may have individual registration dates and course dates. This approach allows Lehigh to offer courses that are more flexible and convenient providing students with a printed transcript within a few days of finishing the course.
At present, open schedule courses are offered only in specified graduate level programs within the College of Business and Economics and the College of Education. Those courses are listed as “Open” in the Sessions column of the Course Listings portion of this publication.
To register for an Open Schedule course, please contact the graduate office of the college in which the course is being offered to confirm registration period dates and course start and end dates.
