Frequently Asked Questions

What do you offer for high school students?  High school students who have completed their junior year may take appropriate summer courses at Lehigh.  In most cases, high school students are permitted to register for courses numbered from 001 through 199, unless the course has additional course requirements such as college level prerequisites.   We offer a number of on-campus and on-line courses that carry full Lehigh credits that in most cases can be transferred to other institutions.  At this time, Lehigh does not have any residential career programs.

How do I add/drop a course?  A non-Lehigh student admitted for summer may officially add/drop a course with the appropriate form (available in the Registrar’s Office or the Summer Sessions Office) and signed by the instructor in person or by mail to the Office of Summer Sessions, 436 Brodhead Ave., Bethlehem, PA  18015.

How do I access my Lehigh computer account?  Non-Lehigh students admitted for the summer will be assigned a LIN and PIN number.  These numbers will be mailed to your home address once your summer registration is entered into the University’s Banner system.  If you have any questions regarding these numbers please call the Registrar’s Office at 610-758-3160.  After you have received your LIN and PIN numbers you can go to:  http://www.lehigh.edu/computing/docs/accounts/open_account.html and set up your account.

Who do I contact if I have a question about payment?  The Bursar’s Office takes care of summer tuition fees.  If you have any questions, please contact them directly by email at inburs@lehigh.edu or 610-758-3160.

Is there Financial Aid available for summer sessions?  Students who want to apply for financial assistance during the summer term must have a completed application for the 2007-2008 academic year on file.  The application consists of the FAFSA, PROFILE, LU Application for Undergraduate Aid, 2006 tax returns and a Summer application. For summer consideration these forms should be filed no later than April 1, 2007.  Further details on the appropriate forms may be obtained from the Office of Financial Aid:  http://www.lehigh.edu/~infao/index.htm.

Is there summer housing available?  University housing is available during both summer sessions for undergraduate and graduate students who register for classes.  For information and an application, contact the Office of Residential Services at (610) 758-3500 or send e-mail to inrsd@lehigh.edu.

How do I request a summer bulletin be mailed to me?  Send an email to shha@lehigh.edu or contact the Office of Summer Sessions at 610-758-3966.

How are online courses graded?  Online courses carry the same credit as on-campus courses, therefore online courses are graded the same as on-campus courses.  The tuition is also the same for both online and on-campus courses.
