Charmaine Yaszewski, our dear receptionist, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 27, 2009, while in the care of her loving family at her home.
Charmaine was born in Fountain Hill, Pennsylvania the daughter of the late Sigmund and Carol Yaszewski. She was a graduate of Hellertown/Lower Saucon High School, class of 1962. After graduation Charmaine began work as a secretary at Lehigh University, transferring to her recent position at Centennial School in 1972. She was a friend to many and a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church in Bethlehem where she was a Sunday school teacher, member of the Choir and a member of the Missionary Society. At Centennial School where Charmaine contributed so much of her life’s work, she was a constant source of kindness to all who passed by her desk or called on the phone.
Charmaine is survived by her twin sister, Sharon and her sister’s husband, George, as well as George’s mother, Mary Warden. In lieu of flowers, contributions are being made in Charmaine’s honor directly to her church, the Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, 75 E. Union Blvd., Bethlehem, PA, 18018.
Please join me in wishing the very best to Sharon and George during this sorrowful time. I know I speak for the faculty and staff of Centennial School and so many students and parents, past and present, when I say we will greatly miss Charmaine everyday and will keep her in our memories and prayers forever.
