A significant event has recently occurred at our Sigma Kappa chapter of Sigma Alpha Mu: The 1,000th member was inducted into this past class. Having 1,000 members has given the current brothers of the house one more reason to show a little extra appreciation for everything that all the alumni have done to establish and support the fraternity which we enjoy today. Because of this milestone, members of the new class both developed an especially deep understanding of the history of our fraternity, and felt an especially powerful sense of pride to join a brotherhood with such historic and diverse roots. Naturally, all new brothers feel these senses of connection and pride when they begin to learn about Sigma Alpha Mu, but this milestone has placed the spotlight on our long legacy of brotherhood at Lehigh. House president Joseph Rosen said of the landmark occasion, “1,000 members is a very large number of people. We should all be honored that such a large number have come before us. It is very meaningful for me to think that in the future, I will read about the 2,000th member inducted into the Sigma Kappa chapter.” |
