Residential buildings are open over Thanksgiving Break, and students requesting to remain on campus over Thanksgiving Break must register on-line with Residential Services by Friday, 11/14. There are limited dining options during this time. Students interested in staying during break should consult the Lehigh Dining Services website for further dining information.
Fraternity and Sorority House Approval to Remain Open
If someone is remaining in the house for break, the chapter is responsible for providing Residential Services written approval from the Alumni/ae Housing Corporation stating that they are amenable to the house remaining open for the duration of the break. If no one signs up to stay in the house during break or if approval from alumni/ae is not granted, the house will be closed for the duration of the break. Assistant Directors for Fraternity and Sorority Affairs will receive notification of who was approved for break housing.
What do I need to know if I am staying on campus?
Semester Break (12/18-1/17) and Spring Breaks (3/7-3/14)
The availability of break housing during semester break and spring break will be limited during the upcoming academic year to only students who are required to remain on campus for in-season NCAA sanctioned practices and events and/or international students. All other residents are expected to make alternative housing arrangements during these break periods.
Residential Services will work directly with Athletics and International Services directly to create a list of student approved to stay in the buildings over these breaks. Eligibility to remain on campus does not mean that buildings will remain open. Only buildings with the required number of residents will be eligible to remain open. Each approved person will receive more specific information in regards to their housing for the break.
Room-by-room inspections will occur to ensure the security of the building.
