Energy and Environment Research and Commercialization (ERC) Grants
With support from the Commonweatlth of Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) and Ben Franklin Technology Development Authority (BFTDA), we are pleased to announce the availability of Energy and Environment Research and Commercialization Grants (ERCGs). ERCGs support research with high potential to lead to and support business activity in the region and the Commonwealth in areas relating to energy supply, management and utilization, and environmental impact. These funds have been distributed through an internal competition with awards beginning June 1, 2011
ERCG grants provide support for a period of up to 12 months, and up to $35,000 in direct costs for a project involving a single faculty member and up to $50,000 in direct costs for a multi-faculty project. In addition, an ERCG grant may provide up to $15,000 in additional direct costs as matched by 1:1 by a Pennsylvania company. ERCG projects will also receive support from the Lehigh Office of Technology Transfer to assure proper attention to intellectual property matters and to assist as needed in setting a path to commercialization.
