Confronting Bias & Hate

Outreach
-----------------------------
LGBTQA Programs and Outreach provides a variety of services to students, faculty, and staff on campus. To educate the Lehigh community, we provide Ally Training about the lives, experiences, accomplishments, and needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning people. In addition, we host brown bag lunch discussions, bring guest speakers, plan film festivals, and cosponsor events with other offices throughout campus.

Networking
-----------------------------
Our office works with a number of campus groups and organizations in order to provide additional services to gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning individuals. Some of these campus resources include:

  • The Office of Multicultural Affairs
  • The Women’s Center
  • Dean of Students
  • Counseling and Psychological Services
  • Office of Graduate Student Life
  • Student Activities Office
  • Chaplain's Office

    Information
    -----------------------------
We keep in touch and provide information through several publications, both print and electronic.

  • LGBTQA Digest, the university LGBTQA newsletter
  • Our Website: http://www.lehigh.edu/~inrainbo
  • The Community Resource Guide, available on our website

    Support
    -----------------------------
LGBTQA Programs & Outreach seeks to be an advocate and provide support services for all in our community. We are also happy to assist in confidential individual and group support referrals. Please contact us at (610) 758-4126 for more information.

    Training
    -----------------------------
In order to create a truly safe space for the LGBTQ community at Lehigh, the Dean of Students established the Safe Zone Project. This program, which is open to everyone on campus, consists of an in-depth training through workshops and educational sessions to help participants better understand the needs and concerns of the LGBTQ community. These trained allies are visible supporters and advocates for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning members of the Lehigh community.
