Equiss is a 3-day social justice retreat from May 26-28, 2010 for college students from across the nation who want to understand systems of oppression, privilege, identity development, and take action to create a more fair and just world. Equiss is offered through The University of Arizona to educate students on how to positively and effectively address issues of injustice, inequity, and inequality on campus and in the broader context of American society. REGISTRATION DEADLINE: $175 due by April 16, 2010. (includes room and board during the retreat). Scholarship Application Deadline: April 16, 2010.

LIBERATION 2010: a weekend long spiritual conference designed to empower LGBTQ people friends, family and fans to come out of the closet spiritually. It is created to heal the limiting false beliefs that our orientation is somehow a mistake or an accidental curse…so that we can get on with what we are here to be - powerful and free. As a result of religious persecution, many of us have separated our spiritual selves from our sexual selves and it’s time we bring these glorious parts of ourselves together and to heal the impacts of homophobia from the inside – out! LIBERATION 2010 was created to help us all do just that!

**Some LGBT oriented conferences and eventsare also (cross)listed
at Campus Pride's Events & Conferences webpage**.

Calls for Submissions

Call for Submissions: Attention all writers: here is your chance to publish your work in an ongoing series of books called World Voice.
We are looking for amateur and professional writers to share their stories and to write about their lives and what really matters to them. This can be in the form of poetry, biographies, creative writings, photographs, and photos of your original art. Please email the coordinating author Joseph A Santiago for more details and an online submission form.

Call for Submissions : InterAlia, a peer-edited scholarly journal for queer theory, seeks submissions, written either in Polish or in English.
Among the issues we hope our contributors will address is the translatability of queer concepts across cultural and linguistic borders; the relationship between queer theory and activism; the possibility of reconciling the different positionings within the queer community that are related to such factors as gender, race, class, age, sexual practices, and geographical location; the relevance of queer studies for understanding the discourses, cultural practices, and institutions that surround us; and the potential of queer as a counterdiscourse or counterpractice. Email interalia@o2.pl with questions.

Call for Submissions: Girls Doing Boys Doing Boys: Japanese Boys' Love Anime and Manga in a Globalized World
