College of Health is a part of the Path to Prominence plan. The new college would be Lehigh’s fifth.

Middle States Self Study & Accrediation

The working groups have reviewed Lehigh's processes and procedures, and have assessed whether we are in compliance with Middle States standards of accreditation.

The various working group reports have been compiled in a 120 page draft Self Study Report and is the basis of a self-study report that will be sent to the peer evaluators in mid February who will conduct our evaluation. The peer review team will be on campus April 8-11, 2018.

Lyterati - Faculty ePortfolio

Lyterati is a database that allows faculty members to record their accomplishments in the areas of research, teaching and service and is used for generating faculty Professional Activity Reports (PAR).

Starting fall 2017, Lyterati will also be used for faculty candidates coming up for first reappointments. The goal over the next several years is to continue implementation to include second reappointments, promotion and tenure, promotion to full, annual reviews, Professor of Practice reappointments, and triennial reviews.

Lehigh University Western Regional Office

Lehigh established the Western Regional Office (WRO) to extend educational opportunities for Lehigh students and faculty by building curricular and research partnerships with dynamic enterprises in selected key cities within the Western Region.

Areas of WRO engagement include: academic programs, student recruitment, alumni relations, university events, development, corporate and industry partnerships and career services. A cornerstone partnership for Lehigh's presence in the west, which launched in fall of 2016, is the Lehigh@Nasdaq Center where Lehigh serves as the academic in residence.

Diversity and Inclusion at Lehigh

The work to foster inclusive diversity at Lehigh reaches into every facet of campus life and engages our entire community of students, faculty and staff. Lehigh's efforts include changes to policies and practices at the institutional level as well as work creating a more inclusive campus culture through opportunities for education, dialogue and action.

Strategic Faculty Hiring Initiative

The Strategic Faculty Hiring Initiative aims to advance the university’s strategic goals:

  1. to create a more diversified faculty, and
  2. to identify employment opportunities for partners and spouses of faculty candidates as well as current members of the faculty.

Creative Inquiry and Mountaintop Experience

Inside a former Bethlehem Steel research facility atop South Mountain, Lehigh is creating a vibrant and unique learning environment—a space in which students are given the freedom to pursue answers to open-ended questions while working in, and across, all disciplines. In the process, the students are challenged to increase their capacities for independent inquiry, for taking intellectual risks and learning from failures, for collaboration, for recognizing important problems and opportunities to effect constructive and sustainable change.

Data X

Computer science and data analytics are increasingly driving discovery and opportunity at the intersection of multiple disciplines. At Lehigh, faculty and students are leveraging the university’s interdisciplinary strengths and utilizing computer and data science to push the boundaries of research, teaching and learning in such fields as bioengineering, data analytics, the life sciences, digital media and more.

Lehigh ADVANCE: Building Community Beyond Academic Departments, a five year grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF) ADVANCE - Institutional Transformation (IT) program, is part of a national push to increase the ranks of women in academic science and engineering careers.

Cluster Initiative

Lehigh is continuing the tradition of combining classical education and the latest in contemporary technical and scientific knowledge through the Cluster Initiative. The Cluster Initiative fosters collaboration through the development of small, cross-disciplinary disciplines and departments organized around a common intellectual theme, issue or area of interest. Together, these scholars can provide the critical mass necessary to cross new frontiers in teaching and research while addressing some of the world's most pressing problems.
