At Lehigh, our goal is to lead by example and to conduct research that drives change---to see things not for what they are, but for what they might be. Watch this video to see how we are Redefining What it Means to Lead.
It’s my privilege to welcome you to Lehigh University and our great community of scholars.
At Lehigh, we have high expectations. We expect our students to perform at an extraordinary academic level, and for our graduates to go well beyond being significant contributors. We expect each, in his or her own way, to become a leader.
We expect the same of our distinguished faculty and researchers, who are among the best in the world. They are actively engaged with students and colleagues in taking on some of society’s most pressing problems. Through their work, they are not only blazing new trails in research, but taking that knowledge and insight gained and using it to contribute to improving lives all over the globe.
This has been our driving mission since Lehigh was founded in 1865 by industrialist Asa Packer, who envisioned a university that prepared students for a rapidly evolving and complex world. In the nearly 150 years since Lehigh’s founding, the world has changed dramatically, and so has Lehigh. We continue to be committed to core values of building on strong foundations to foster a culture of innovation within a dynamic, vital and engaging intellectual environment. Lehigh is a place where all members of the community are encouraged to challenge themselves, embrace their passions, take risks, be creative problem-solvers, and learn to approach issues from a variety of perspectives.
Ultimately, we are, collectively and individually, redefining what it means to lead. There is no one right way, no guaranteed path. But at Lehigh, we know where to begin.
It is my honor to work with such highly distinguished faculty and to serve our inquisitive and passionate student body. I invite you to learn more about Lehigh University by viewing this video, which provides you with a glimpse of our university, and showcases some of our student and faculty leaders who are making an impact in the Lehigh community and beyond.
Please feel free to contact my office if we can be of any help to you.
