Upper Darby School District

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia
*Partnering to Achieve School Success & Neo-natal Follow-Up
Why Interested in the Project:
Children from diverse low-income backgrounds are at risk for both health and academic concerns. I have seen first hand the interconnection between health and school and the strong need for an integrated knowledge of pediatrics, special education, and school psychology. Through the Pediatric School Psychology Leadership Grant I will gain experience working with students who are at-risk for academic and health concerns and gain knowledge of prevention and intervention methods. As a school psychologist, I will be in the position to advocate for families and facilitate their access to appropriate services, subsequently reducing health and academic disparities.
