Lehigh alum earns Lifetime Achievement Award at G2E 2013

The American Gaming Association (AGA) and Reed Exhibitions honored Lehigh alumnus Richard J. Rizzo with the 2013 Sarno Lifetime Achievement Award. Rizzo was recognized for his unmatched contributions to casino resort construction across the United States.

Rizzo accepted the award during the Casino Design Awards at Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2013.

Rizzo has been Vice Chairman of Perini Building Company for several years, joining the company back in 1977. He responsibilities include new business development and company growth. Rizzo was instrumental in steering the company into the hospitality and gaming industry.

Today, the company is a leader in its market and is responsible for the development of many of the nation’s most recognizable casino resorts in Las Vegas, including Caesars Palace Hotel & Casino, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, Luxor Las Vegas and Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino.

Rizzo previously earned the 2009 Hospitality Industry Network Industry Achievement Award and the 2002 Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Humanitarian Award.

Rizzo graduated from Lehigh University with a B.S. in civil engineering.
