Welcome to the website of the Lehigh University Optics and Photonics Society (LUOPS)! This is student-run organization interested in the promotion of optical science and technology. Our mission is to provide exciting educational, networking, and outreach activities for the Lehigh community.
Lehigh University student chapter of the Optical Society of America (LUSCOSA) was founded in Summer 2012 and SPIE student chapter was established on August, 2006. The two chapters have held numerous events separately such as company visits, outreach, traveler speakers and seminar series from both faculty and students. Presently OSA and SPIE student chapters at Lehigh University consist of 25 chapter members who are actively working on the optics and photonics research area.
Since Fall 2014, when the Lehigh University Optics and Photonics Society (LUOPS) is established, the two OSA and SPIE student chapters started collaborating within LUOPS and they work together to perform missions collectively. Further announcements of the future activities of LUOPS, from both OSA and SPIE chapters, will be made in short future.
