Guide - Political Campaigns and Lehigh's Tax Exempt Status
 
Lehigh University is a non-profit institution of higher education that is exempt from federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  As such, the University is prohibited from “participating in, or intervening in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office.”
