Summer Job Opportunities

During the summer months, the Office of Conference and Special Housing Services employs approximately twenty students in a variety of positions. During the summer of 2013, the Campus Square D lounge area will be used as the location for the summer conference main desk operation. The desk is staffed seven days a week. During the course of the summer, the university hosts over 50 camps and conferences and several thousand conference guests. We are most interested in students who have leadership skills and a demonstrated ability to interact well with others, as well as a strong commitment to customer service. Below are the titles of the various positions that are available. Click on the position for information about the job responsibilities.

General requirements for the above positions are as follows:

  1. Available to work from May 13, 2013 through August 19, 2013
  2. Available to work weekdays, evenings and weekends
  3. Attend the conference training workshop and all staff meetings
  4. Participate in a rotating evening and weekend on-call schedule, which is covered by the two supervisors
  5. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervising staff

General Timeline is as follows

    March 15, 2013 New staff applications and reference forms are due to Rathbone Hall (63 University Drive) by noon
    April 1-10, 2013 Interviews
    Week of April 15, 2013 Offers made/alternates named
    Friday, May 10, 2013 Conference staff may move into residence halls (if applicable)
    Monday, May 13, 2013 Work begins
