Annual Newman Foundation Dinner
The Newman Foundation of Lehigh University held their annual Board of Trustees dinner on Thursday, May 14th, 2009. Mass was held at the University Parish of Holy Ghost for living and deceased benefactors. Fr. Wayne E. Killian, M.A., M.S. (Pastor, Catholic Chaplain for Lehigh University and for Moravian College, and Diocesan Director of Catholic Campus Ministry) was the main celebrant. Concelebrants were the Very Rev. E. Michael Camilli, M.S.C., S.T.L. (Diocesan Secretary for Catholic Life & Evangelization), and Rev. Msgr. John S. Mraz (Pastor of St. Ann Church, Emaus, and former Catholic Chaplain for Lehigh University). This was followed by dinner in the Gander Room in South Bethlehem. Following dinner, Scott Wojiechowski, a recent graduate, was presented with a plaque and monetary gift in honor of his contributions to Catholic Campus Ministry. Scott was picked by a university-wide survey as the most exemplary undergraduate student who demonstrates a special quality of service as leadership, commitment, or dedication to Catholic Campus Ministry. Scott was the Vice President of Membership and Activities for the Lehigh Catholic Student Union this past year and has been active as a member of Catholic Campus Ministry during all four years at Lehigh. He was also recently nominated for membership into Newman Foundation Board of Trustees. Following the awards presentation, remarks were made by Newman Foundation President Mary T. Pongracz, the Very Rev. E. Michael Camili, and Fr. Killian. Benediction was given by Msgr. John Mraz.
