Admission Requirements & Program Prerequisities
A minimum 30 credit hours of registration is required for the Master of Science in Manufacturing Systems Engineering degree.
Candidates for the MSE program should have a B.S. degree in an engineering discipline or applied science (e.g., physics, chemistry). This degree must be from an accredited college or university. A GPA of at least 2.75 out of 4.0 is required for regular admission. GRE (with score at or above 75th percentile) is recommended and may be required of candidates. International candidates must present minimum iBT TOEFL scores as indicated: Reading 21; Listening 15; Speaking 24; Writing 25; Composite Score Minimum of 85. GRE scores above the 75th percentile are required. Strong verbal skills are essential.
- Students entering the MSE Program are expected to have knowledge and skills in probability and statistics, as well as computer programming.
- Industry Experience - A minimum of six months industrial work experience is essential for all program participants, prior to beginning course work.
MSE Students attend classes on-campus, via classroom-live, or on-line:
Part-time students can complete the MSE degree requirements in two years. MSE classes are conveniently scheduled and offered on-campus, and delivered in real time from Lehigh's classrooms to students in their homes, workplace, or while traveling, and also in an asynchronous online format through Lehigh's Office of Distance Education.
Distance Education Tuition and Fees
Distance Education tuition is $1,000 per credit hour for the 2014-15 academic year. On-line students also pay an access fee of $100.00 per each on-line course.
Campus Student Tuition and Fees
The P.C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science graduate tuition is $1,340 per credit hour for the 2014-15 academic year, and may increase in 2015-2016 academic year.
- Books and Supplies average $1200. per semester
- Health insurance $1970.
- Twelve month living expenses in Lehigh Valley area are, on average, $14,400 (est. $1200 per month).
MSE Program prospective candidates for both campus and distance education, full or part-time, apply on-line through the P.C. Rossin College of Engineering.
Currently the Center does not have financial aid available for student support.
