Lessons in a wide variety of instruments and voice may be taken for one credit. They must be arranged through the department at set fees that are not included in tuition. The availability of lessons cannot be guaranteed due to difficulties in scheduling in a small percentage of cases. There are ten 45-minute lessons each semester, which usually begin in the second or third week of classes.

Students may register online but must come to the department office during the first week of the semester to fill out a schedule sheet used by the instructors to develop their teaching schedules. The instructor will contact students to inform them of the time, place and starting date of lessons.
