DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING & MECHANICS

Lehigh University is accepting applications for faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in two fields: 1) Mechanics of Fluids and 2) Solid Mechanics. The research emphasis should be in one or more of the following areas: energy, energy conversion, mechanics of materials, and solid-fluid interaction. Fluid and/or solid phenomena at all length scales are of interest. The ideal candidate will have a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong background in the experimental or theoretical/computational aspects of mechanics, and will be expected to develop a vigorous research program, accompanied by excellence in teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Multidisciplinary research programs are an important priority at Lehigh University, and include strong interactions with government agencies, industry, and existing research centers on campus. Candidates should provide curriculum vitae that include: a statement of professional experience and goals; detailed plans for research and funding; a list of refereed publications and presentations; a summary of teaching experience and plans; and the names and contact information of four references.
