Media Center - Computer Lab
(8) iMac Apple computers with scanners are available in the Media Center. This area is designed to support preparation of graphics, including scanning of flat art, photocopying to transparency, color printing and video editing. These computers also used to extend the video editing resources of the Digital Media Studio during periods of heavy demand.
Student and support staff can offer limited assistance with PowerPoint, basic scanning and color printing; however, clients are expected to work primarily on their own. Clients who need with complex assignments or who need in-depth assistance with these tools are urged to make use of the professional staff available during regular business hours in the
Digital Media Studio. The color printer in the Media Center is of good quality but larger format printing and photo-quality prints are available in the Digital Media Studio. The Media Center also has an Avio video editing system for editing VHS video tape.
The (8) iMac computers in the site are intended for graphics, video and presentation work only. We ask that you do not use these systems for word processing, e-mail or web browsing. Computers are available throughout EWFM library for this purpose. Also note that color printing, or preparation of transparencies from these computers is not free (Gold cards, accounts, bursar charges, and checks are all welcome, but we cannot accept cash). Please ask the staff at the circulation desk for assistance with color printing and for information on printing charges.
Charges for printing or transparencies are:
- B & W Laser Print to the site printer (default): no charge
- Color Print $ .50 - $1.00
- B & W Transparency $ .50
- Color Transparency $1.00- $1.50
Please be careful when you select a printer:You must pay for ALL color prints. Payment is by Gold, Bursar account, Departmental charge, or check. Cash is not accepted.
