SCOLA is an international news 24 hour a day satellite provider. You can find SCOLA on Channel 18 of the Lehigh Campus Broadcasting cable.
The IMRC supports and programs a steerable C/Ku band 8 foot satellite dish, located on the roof of Maginnes Hall.
The dish is set at the SCOLA default, but news, cultural and sports downlinks are available throughout the Lehigh Campus on Channel 18 upon request, if the downlink is in the open (not digitized or encoded). (There is sometimes a fee assessed for outside or non -academic events for this service.)
Teleconferences (events downlinked on a special basis) are available by request and organizations may contract the IMRC for such a purpose.
All satellite events can be viewed throughout Maginnes Hall, but are are normally shown in the World View Room (Room 490 Maginnes), a comfortable lounge-type setting with a large-screen television. The room is available during all IMRC open hours for viewing downlinks of satellite programs or any internal cable channel by groups by request or scheduling.
