South Bethlehem Experience

Group of South Bethlehem Experience Students

In this three day pre-orientation program, incoming students explore their new home city. With SBE, they have a chance to become familiar with South Bethlehem and learn about its rich historical and cultural heritage. During the program, students tour historic sites like the Bethlehem Steel Works, eat at local ethnic restaurants and learn their way around the city. They also have the chance to meet city residents and learn about Bethlehem's diverse communities. Once the semester starts, their insider "local" knowledge will be the envy of other students!

Before the first day tour of Bethlehem (or, at the latest, before the second day of activities) students should read the two assignments attached to this webpage. You will get a snapshot of Bethlehem's people, places, events and resources through these readings, and you will have some background before you take off on foot to explore parts of Bethlehem. Besides, you will receive great information you can refer to all year as you continue to explore South Bethlehem and the rest of the city.
