OMA Ambassadors Application Information
Job Description
Position Title: OMA Ambassador
Number of Positions Available: 6-8
Purpose of Position: To serve as a resource and ambassador to the Office of Multicultural Affairs. They will assist in the planning and promoting of events, social justice training for wider campus community, and retention efforts.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs
- Attend one weekend training retreat
- Assist with the planning and implementation of the House of Privilege program
- Work directly with Residence Life to provide diversity and social justice training and programs to Gryphons and residents
- Will be assigned to a 1st year residence hall to provide a minimum of 2 diversity programs a semester in conjunction with Gryphon program model
- Work with Gryphon to make the residence hall more inclusive and welcoming through bulletin board information (OMA and CPB upcoming events, random information i.e. blackface bulletin board)
- Will represent OMA at club organization fairs
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Attend monthly one on ones with Assistant Director
- Attend RLC/Gryphon meeting once a month
- Participate in Challenge by Choice program
- Attend 1 social justice conference
Requirements:
- Passionate about social justice
- Must have and maintain atleast a 2.5 GPA
- Must be a rising sophomore or higher

- Willingness to learn
- Comfortable with being uncomfortable
- Able to have challenging conversations
- Must demonstrate an appreciation for diversity

- Gain experience and improve their public speaking, group facilitation, and cultural workshop development skills
Ambassador Selection Process & Timeline
October 29 - November 18: Application Available
November 18 at 5pm: Applications Due
November 27 - 30: Ambassador Interviews Held
December 5: Ambassadors Notified
