26th Annual Spring Awards Banquet

Lehigh University's Office of Multicultural Affairs invites you to attend our 26th Annual Spring Awards Banquet. This is a very special time where we recognize our students' academic achievements and celebrate faculty and staff contribution to student life. The OMA is proud to present the following awards:

The Protostar Award (Protostar: an early stage in the evolution of a star), presented to a first year student(s) whose early commitment to academic excellence and co-curricular life has established a foundation for self and for others' success.

The Paoni Award (Paoni: 10th month of the Coptic, or Egyptian calendar, reflecting the second harvest), presented to a second year student(s) whose academic and co-curricular leadership has impacted student life at Lehigh. This student will have served as a model of achievement for others.

The Chrysalis Award (Chrysalis: third stage of growth and differentiation for butterflies), presented to a third year student(s) whose pursuit of academic excellence, leadership, and community involvement has enhanced the quality of life for students of color and/or the broader Lehigh University community.

The Efflorescence Award (Efflorescene: an example or result of growth and development), presented to a graduating student(s) who has demonstrated tremendous leadership and support for the mission of multicultural affairs, impacted the quality of student life at Lehigh, and has served as a model of professional excellence.

The Paradigm Award (Paradigm: mold, standard; one that serves as a pattern or model), presented to a graduate student(s) who models leadership, personal integrity, and a commitment to academic excellence.

Student Organization of the Year, presented to a student organization that has impacted student life in a positive way and promoted cultural awareness.

The Keystone Award (Keystone: something on which associated things depend), presented to a faculty or staff member(s) committed to improving the Lehigh experience for students of color.

Ralph Albert Thomas '76 Leadership Award is given to a graduating senior who has demonstrated tremendous achievement in their academic, personal, and co-curricular involvement. Moreover, the recipient will have had a significant impact on the quality of life of other Lehigh students.

The Kinship Award is, presented to student(s) who have demonstrated overwhelming support for the Lehigh community through service and volunteerism.

MVP Award is presented to a student(s) who has excelled both athletically and academically.
