MSE department recognizes outstanding students with awards

Students received awards from the department at the annual Student Materials Society picnic April 24, 2011. Winners were:

Bradley Stoughten Student Award, presented to an outstanding senior student in the Materials Science and Engineering department
- Daniel A. Grande
- Nicholas J. Greybush

Kahn Memorial Award, presented to a senior student outstanding in materials science and engineering
- Sarah A. Horst

Cyril John Osborn Award, presented to a senior student who shows outstanding promise of a successful career in materials science and engineering
- Anthony P. Ventura

Allen S. Quier Prize, awarded to a senior student in recognition of outstanding progressive achievement in scholastic work in materials science and engineering
- Christopher W. Chew
- Haley D. Conklin

Handwerk Prize, presented to a student for outstanding achievement in the fields of chemistry, materials science and engineering or earth and environmental sciences
- Ukrit Thamma

Gilbert Doan Award, presented to a sophomore student in recognition of outstanding performance in academics and work study
