FAQ
Authorized Pickup of Children
Children will only be released to individuals authorized by the parents of the child. When an authorized individual, other than the parents are to pick up a child, the parents MUST contact the center prior to the day of pick-up. Parents may send a note, fax a note, e-mail the director at kc06@lehigh.edu or tell the teachers. A note accompanying the person picking up a child (other than the parent) will not be accepted.
Anyone who is picking up a child and is not familiar with the center staff must have proper photo identification (if using a drivers’ license, the license must be current). This includes parents who may not normally pick up their children. All individuals authorized by parents to pick up their children must be at least 18 years of age.
If an individual and this includes parents attempts to pick-up a child and appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs (determined by an appropriate staff member), the other parent or an authorized individual will be contacted to pick up the child. If the individual insists that the child be released to his/her custody, campus police or the local police will be immediately contacted.
