The center is open year round and follows the University Calendar, except for one week, which is the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. During this week, staff requests vacation time and the student workers are not available to work, repairs to the center can be completed and major cleaning jobs such as washing and waxing all of the floors, cleaning the wall to wall carpeting and cleaning the industrial appliances in the kitchen can also be done. This is work that can not be successfully completed overnight or over a weekend, a week's time is needed to complete these tasks. Parents are not charged for this week.

EMERGENCY CLOSINGS

The center will remain open whenever possible. However, in the event of an emergency (sewer line break, electrical problems) the center will close. When Lehigh University is closed, has a delayed start or closes early, the child care center will do the same. These situations may occur during a severe snowstorm or ice storm. University closings and delays will be announced on radio stations and you may also call 610-758-NEWS (6397).
