Accreditation
Lehigh University Child Care Center is accredited by the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs, a division of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Our child care center has demonstrated substantial compliance with nationally recognized Criteria for high-quality early childhood programs. Our center has voluntarily completed a comprehensive process of a self-study, was visited by a professional validator to review and verify our compliance with the Criteria and was found to be in high compliance with the Criteria, thus resulting in our accreditation.
Licenses
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Public Welfare licenses the center. This department sets the standards and regulations that govern the operation of the center. Reviews of the program are made regularly with state personnel visiting the center at scheduled times and then at other non-scheduled times. The center is required to meet the state standards for staffing patterns, health, safety, curriculum, facility, nutrition, staff and child records and other required information. The center is also licensed by the Bethlehem Department of Health. This department periodically inspects the center insuring that the center is in compliance with local health and safety standards. Our center is a member of the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s Child Care Food Program, which advises and monitors the food service component of the program to insure that children receive proper nutrition.
