Lehigh University's Hawk Watch program is a new program created to keep our off-campus
neighborhoods safer. In these areas where many of our students live, student volunteers will be educated in
crime prevention methods and tools. Students will also be given a training manual, which includes practical
information on reporting crimes, and on the existing crime prevention programs offered by the Lehigh
University Police Department.
- Meetings throughout the year will provide guest speakers on current topics, or additional information
on the particular issues of concern in the off-campus neighborhoods.
- Hawk Watch volunteers will observe suspicious activity in their neighborhoods. They are NOT instructed
to intervene in criminal activity, but to inform the LUPD about criminal activity.
This group is organized under the auspices of the Lehigh University Police Department, one of only three
fully accredited campus police departments in the state of Pennsylvania, and in cooperation with the Bethlehem
Police Department.
Anyone interested in learning more should call the LUPD at 610-758-4200. You can also signup below to receive more
