Co-Principal Investigators


Edward S. Shapiro, Ph.D. Dr. Edward S. Shapiro has published extensively in the area of academic assessment and interventions, self-management, and personal responsibility for students with disabilities. Since 1985, he has been principal or co-principal investigator on research and training grants totaling over $3.3 million from the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services.

Christine L. Cole, Ph.D. Dr. Cole’s work has focused on the areas of self-management interventions and positive behavioral support for individuals with developmental and behavioral disabilities. Dr. Cole has been co-principal investigator (with Dr. Shapiro) on three previous U.S. Dept. of Education training grants involved in developing assessment and intervention strategies for students with low incidence disabilities.

Special Education Faculty

Dr. Linda Bambara and Dr. Lee Kern are nationally known experts in the education of students with disabilities. Both have strong publication records and are leaders at national, state, and regional levels. Dr. Bambara is past coordinator of the Special Education program at Lehigh University and past Editor of The Journal of the Association for Persons with Severe Handicaps.

Staff


Kimberly Jaykus, is a second year student in the Ph.D. program in School Psychology and currently serves as a Project Coordinator/Field Supervisor on the Low Incidence Disabilities Grant.

Catherine Kunssch, M.S., is a fifth year student in the Ph.D. program in School Psychology. Cathy is serving in her second year as a Project Coordinator/Field Supervisor on the Low Incidence Disabilities grant.
