"What is Launch-IT Information Technology"
Launch-IT Program
Launch-IT offers two infomation technology programs throughout the year; an academic year program & a 3-week summer session.
***Students must apply for both sessions seperately.***
- During the academic year Launch-IT meets one Saturday a month (8:30AM-4PM).
- The 3-week Launch-IT summer program runs on a Monday through Thursday schedule (8:30AM-4PM).
Launch-IT provides three distinct programs based upon student grade level.
Robotics Team (6th & 7th grade students)
- Programming remotely controlled mobile robots in a simulated Martian landscape
Teaching team: ( Subject to change)
Fuego Flash Team (8th & 9th grade students)
- Creating a web-based music juke box using Flash & Action Script
Teaching team: ( Subject to change)
Silverlight Team - NEW! (10th, 11th, & 12th grade students)
- Learn the basics of graphics, animation, and interaction thru MS.net & Silverlight Technologies
Teaching team: ( Subject to change)
Math skills will be developed continually with the help of the web-based “24” game and a web-based geometry tutoring system. Interactive multimedia and field trips to corporate sponsors eager to hire the software developers of the future, will prepare Launch-IT students for IT career opportunities. Top-notch IT teachers and college students will provide tutoring for Launch-IT students in any subjects where they need help in school, launching them to success in college and the IT workforce.
