Getting Ready to Work With OpenMind...
MatchWare OpenMind is a visual learning tool designed to help you develop and organize ideas. It is ideal for organizing content for presentations, papers, and web authoring.
Before you begin,
...it is a good idea to create a folder to hold your OpenMind map and any related files.
(Please note: if you are working in a public site, do not save your folder on your desktop or in your H: drive, but rather onto a flash drive or in a temporary folder on the C: drive. It is best to use a flash drive for a collaborative project.)
Installing Open Mind
Before starting, OpenMind must be installed on yourcomputer. You can check the Programs list on your START menu. Choose Matchware if it is there. OpenMind is listed under Matchware if it is already installed on your computer.
If neither Matchware nor OpenMind is listed:
Go to Programs on your START menu.
Choose the Install Software option.
Find the OpenMind program and follow the instructions to install it.
Once you have installed OpenMind, click Start -> All Programs -> Matchware -> OpenMind -> OpenMind. (shown below)
