Splash Pages

Think of splash pages as book covers. They should pull the audience in as well as say something about the content of the site. Where there is no detailed introduction to the website, a splash works well.

However, a splash page could be superfluous - thought needs to be given as to whether it is appropriate for the site.

Media-driven sites do well with Splash Pages.

Flash Movies are often used as Splashes.
