A number of graphic and web authoring programs are available for use in the IMRC. A number of tutorials for learning the software are available online and are listed at the right. Adobe:
Photoshop: A complex program,
currently pixel based, which can operate on a variety
of formats for both print and online mediums. Versions
5.5 and above have a special web "save" function that
achieves optimal visual quality while reducing the
file to its smallest appropriate size.
Acrobat: This program is not
an authoring program, as it is difficult to edit text.
It is great for taking existing files like Microsoft
Word or Power Point, retaining all formatting, and
enabling that file to go on the web. The programs
essentially "take a picture" of the file. Once web-ready,
files can be annotated and linked by graphics or text
to other pages within the file or to an outside URL.
Workshops in the above
are offered periodically. For more details on workshops,
please go to the LTS Seminar Schedule.
