Welcome!
At this point you have viewed the Web Site Design presentation and are ready for the next step.

Introduction
Prior to viewing this tutorial, you should have created an advertisement intended for print media. During this process you should have saved a Photoshop document (*.PSD) version of your advertisement. The Photoshop format is unique in that it is one of a few graphic file formats that allows the creator to leave their image in multiple layers. These layers usually consist of a background, text, images on top of images, etc. Separating these layers into individual image files will allow us to create an interactive advertisment in the form of a web page.

Preparation
1. W3 Setup - If you haven't already done so, be sure to set up your Lehigh webspace.
2. SSH Secure File Transfer Client - Here you'll find basic instructions on how to upload your site after creating it.

3. Understanding The Web - Check this link out for an interactive explanation of the web.
4. Understanding Resolution - Images used on the web are not capable of being displayed at the high resolution available for print media. In fact, the highest resolution that can be viewed is 72 dots per inch.
5. Copyright - Because you are using copyrighted material that is not actually affiliated with the companies advertised, you must include a disclaimer at the bottom of your web site that indicates that the site is for a class at Lehigh University. If you choose to use one of our included templates (discussed on the next page), it has already been included for you.
