You will begin by downloading a pre-made template and adding basic content like text, links, and images to build an informational site about the film "Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail". The completed site will look like this:

Once you have built the Monty Python site, you will learn how to create your own templates for any purpose using page layout and tables.

Step1: Download the Template

To download the template files, click here. When prompted, Save the file to a folder on your H:/ drive.

Your H:/ drive is your own personal space that you can access from any public site on campus. Once you've logged into a public site computer using your Lehigh ID and password, you can access your H:/ drive just like it was a local harddrive. When you save files to your H:/ drive from a public site, they will be available to you the next time you log into a public site computer.

When you are logged into a public site computer, the My Documents folder points to your H:/ drive. To view your H:/ drive, click on the My Documents button on the left side of the File Download screen.

To create a new folder, open the H:/ then right click on a blank area and select "New," or click on the New Folder button in the upper right.

Name the folder MontyPython so you will be able to find it.

Once the zip file has downloaded, you will be presented with another dialog box. Select Open. (NOTE: If you are not presented with this dialog box, simply open the .zip file by navigating to it and double clicking on it. If double clicking on the .zip file does not bring up a screen like the one below, restart the computer and this should fix the problem.)

Click on Extract all files in the window that pops up.

Navigate to the MontyPython directory you created and extract the files there.

After you have extracted the zip file, you should have a folder with 4 files in it, which looks similar to the screen below.

Now move on to Step 2 to begin editing the template.
