I chose to major in Information and Systems Engineering because it was a new and exciting program. The curriculum combines analytics, mathematics, and technology in a way that helps create graduates that are desirable to many employers.
One great opportunity that came to me through the ISE department was the
chance to co-op with marketRx, a company that combines technology,
analytics and market research to enable customers in pharmaceutical and
other life-science industries to improve effectiveness of their sales and
marketing initiatives. During the eight months I was there, I had many new
experiences and learned a a great deal. This was such a rewarding opportunity
and I know it will definitely help me in the future.
Another good experience I had through the ISE department was the chance to
attend the National IIE Conference and compete in the International Simulation Competition. My team's project was selected as one of the five finalists, which
gave us the chance to attend the conference for the final competition.
I plan to continue my ISE degree on through graduate school to obtain my Masters degree. |
