Lehigh University Medical Premium Reimbursement Plan for Retirees

The University provides eligible retirees with a premium reimbursement for medical insurance they purchase for themselves and/or their dependents. The FY2013 (beginning July 1, 2012) reimbursement rate is $86.60 per participant per month.

The plan also provides access to the University's medical coverage plans for retirees and dependents under the age of 65. The cost to purchase one of the University's plans is determined by subtracting the reimbursement rate from the full cost of coverage.

To qualify for participation in the plan, the retiring faculty or staff member must be age 59 1/2 with 10 years of continuous full-time benefits eligible service or age 55 with 25 years of continuous full-time benefits eligible service.
