Planning and Performance

A copy of your position description was provided in your new employee folder on your first day of work. Use it to become familiar with your key accountabilities and the knowledge, skills, and abilities you need to perform the duties of your position.

Approximately six weeks after you begin working at lehigh, Human Resources will contact you with an electronic survey to see how you are doing. This is an opportunity for you to ask questions or obtain information about working at Lehigh.

Your immediate supervisor will meet with you on a regular basis to discuss your performance and to provide information and direction as you begin to perform your responsibilities. After 90 days, your supervisor will provide formal feedback through the Provisional Period Report.

Annual performance appraisals are conducted between November and March. You may learn more about this process more at the Performance Planning and Performance Management Websites.

Once you are established in your position, take the time to explore Performance Planning to learn more about your job family and to prepare an Individual Development Plan (IDP). Information about Job Family Compass may be accessed on the Campus Portal by signing on, selecting the "Employee" tab, and then selecting Compass Initiative from the Human Resources channel.
