What do you like best about your position?
Lehigh University has given me many opportunities. I am in the final stages of completing my
Master's Degree at Lehigh. The tuition benefit at Lehigh has given me the opportunity to earn
both my Bachelor's and Master's Degrees. I have also had the opportunity to have my son be a
student here. My experience has also been that Lehigh is a "family" friendly environment (allowing
me the opportunity to take care of my family and my job at the same time).
What time do you arrive at work? What time do you leave work?
I generally arrive at work at 8:15 a.m. and leave about 4:45 p.m.
Why did you choose Lehigh University as your employer of choice?
In three years prior to coming to Lehigh University, I was laid off three times. Lehigh University
has a good reputation for job security and that was important to me.
What Lehigh University events and activities have you participated in beyond your
department to become a more active member of the Lehigh community?
I have participated in the Lehigh M.O.O.V. (Made Of Our Volunteers) which is held each August
when first year students move into the dormitories. Employees assist by moving luggage and
personal belongings into dorms, hosting refreshment stands, and assisting with check-in and
traffic control. I've also participated in Learning the Institution, a series of interactive training
sessions designed to give employees an overview of all aspects of the University; Business
Managers Training; yoga; various workshops including Stress Management, Time Management,
athletic events (football games, soccer matches, basketball games), and Zoellner Arts Center
events (jazz band concerts, plays such as The Nutcracker).
What is your favorite location on campus and why?
My favorite locations on campus are the Goodman Campus (for its spaciousness and athletic
events), Mountaintop Campus (its scenic beauty), and Packer Chapel (my husband and I got married
there).
What do you like best about working for an academic institution?
I enjoy the learning and research environment. Lehigh University is teaching our future (the
students). I'd also like to add that the teachers at Lehigh's day care center are wonderful!
