Dependent Eligibility
The following dependents of employees may be covered under the University’s flexible benefit program for medical, dental, and dependent life insurances:
- The employee’s spouse or domestic partner
- The dependent child(ren) of the employee and his or her spouse or domestic partner
- Until age 19 (medical, vision, dental, life insurance, and flexible spending account reimbursements)
- Until age 23 if a full-time student (medical, vision, dental, life insurance, flexible spending account reimbursements
- From age 19 until age 26, regardless of student status (flexible spending account reimbursements)
- From age 19 until age 26, regardless of student status AND lacking access to health insurance benefits through his/her own employer (medical, vision, flexible spending account reimbursements)
- The employee’s unmarried disabled child dependent on the employee for support, may be covered without age limitation (subject to required certification).
