Objectives
The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) is a body that was created in order to give a voice to graduate student concerns and feedback. The following are the main objectives of the GSS.
- To serve as the representing body of the Graduate Student community in all matters pertinent to the graduate programs and Graduate Student life at Lehigh University.
- To encourage communication among Graduate Students.
- To provide Graduate Students with a forum to discuss issues pertinent to the graduate programs and Graduate Student life at Lehigh University.
- To acquire information from and disseminate information to the Graduate Student Community.
- To appoint Graduate Students as representatives of the Graduate Student Senate to serve as Graduate Members of the Graduate and Research Committee, Educational Policy Committee, and other university bodies as the need arises.
- To approve and present resolutions to the Graduate and Research Committee, Educational Policy Conmmittee, other university bodies, the Provost, President of the University, or the Board of Trustees.
- To provide the Graduate and Research Committee, Educational Policy Committee, other university bodies, Dean of Graduate Studies, Provost, President of the University, and the Board of Trustees with a forum to discuss issues with Graduate Students, and to prepare position papers when they so request.
- To maintain a Graduate Student Center.
