One aspect of the Global Union is its function as a networking hub. In the section below you will find two groups of links. The first is to other organizations on Lehigh's campus working for and promoting international awareness. The second are links to organizations the Global Union has worked with in the past and has the foundation for future collaborations with.

Lehigh Partners in International Programming

ArtsLehigh: Works to facilitate and deepen engagement in the arts at Lehigh University and partners with the Global Union to provide arts-related international programming to the Lehigh community.

LU/UN Parternship
Lehigh's unique connection to the programs and resources of the United Nations.

Global Citizenship: The certificate program for Lehigh undergraduates, focusing on cultivating global awareness and responsibility.

Dept. of Comparative & International Education: An interdisciplinary graduate program focusing on education around the globe.

Globalization & Social Change Initiative: Founded in 2006, the initiative attempts to bridge the gap between research and the classroom around the theme of globalization.

Center for Global Islamic Studies: Founded in 2009, the Center attracts visiting researchers and provides public fora for presentations on Islamic history, culture, and society.

Past Program Partnerships



Caring for Cambodia: An educational NGO working in Siem Reap Province Cambodia with whom Lehigh's College of Education is involved in a three year partnership (2010-2013).

Marie DaSilva's Jacaranda Foundation: A school serving orphans infected with HIV/AIDS in the African nation of Malawi.


Art With Impact: Based in San Francisco, Art With Impact promotes films on prominent socio-political topics. In 2010-2011, the GU showed two of their films dealing with the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict.

Rick Steves' Iran: Yesterday & Today: The GU has the rights to show this documentary on modern Iran. Let us know if you'd like to organize a viewing.

A Lehigh alum was involved in the production of the documentary Sweet Crude about the human cost of oil production in the Niger Delta. Let us know if you'd like to borrow the DVD.


Amnesty International: The local chapter of the international NGO worked with the GU to host the AI Regional Director in Fall 2010.

Catholic Charities Refugee Services: This Allentown-based organization assists refugees in the Lehigh Valley and has organized an event with the Global Union each fall.

Lehigh Valley Peace Coalition (LEPOCO): This Bethlehem-based group is active in the area promoting peace and justice causes.

Macaulay Associates Network: Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Tony Macaulay promotes peace as a conflict-resolution expert. He also will teach at the 2011 Global Village.


Croatan Studio: This Philadelphia-based organization teaches West African drumming styles and also has a performance team.

The Morrigan
: A Philadelphia based trio specializing in traditional, instrumental Irish music.


Sophie Denis' Follow the Climb: High peaks French climber's mission to make sport a tool for social change.

Sustainable Development

All for Africa: This large scale NGO supports sustainable development projects across the continent of Africa.
