Miss Ferrara’s
Professional Development Plan
Continue to take college courses to keep my
education up to date with the changing times.
There are many graduate level courses offered and I plan to enroll in
subjects that interest me or I feel I know little about.
Participate actively in all in-services to
enhance my professional learning
Continually read professional literature and
teaching publications such as Technology and Learning Magazine,
The Creative Teaching Techniques Newsletter,
The Teaching K-8 Magazine,
and Instructor
Magazine.
Involve myself in professional associations such
as National Education Association (NEA) and the National Parent Teacher
Association.
Constantly refine my instruction by voluntarily
going to seminars and conventions within the state.
Be willing to give and receive help by inviting supervisors to come into my
classroom and observe my teaching, asking them for feedback.
Continually engage in self-reflection by making
an effort to video tape myself teaching numerous times throughout the year.
Assess all of my lessons and units that I teach
and make notes for things that need improvement for the following year.
Remain positive and motivated with each year that passes! Do what it takes, get involved where necessary, and professionally put in the extra effort to make my teaching environment a rewarding one for my students and myself.
“Be the change you wish to see in the world!!”
