Welcome to Miss Ferrara’s
Electronic Portfolio!
My
name is Stephanie Ferrara and I recently graduated with a Masters Degree in
Elementary Education from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. I also earned my
B.A. in Psychology from Lehigh University in 2000.
The
purpose of this electronic portfolio is to provide the reader with valuable
information about me from a professional and personal perspective.
Documents
included in my portfolio are my resume, my philosophy of teaching, a unit that I
created for Hispanic Heritage Month, other sample lessons used throughout my
student teaching, and a video clip of my teaching. Hopefully, this will provide a snapshot of who I am, what I
believe in, and the teacher I expect to be.
Some things about me - “outside of the
classroom”
- I
was born in Washington, D.C. and lived in Maryland until I was 10 years old.
- I
moved from Maryland to New Jersey as a freshmen in high school.

Because of the proximity to Pennsylvania I was attracted to Lehigh
University.
-
I
received my B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Education in June 2000.
-
While at Lehigh, I was in Alpha Gamma Delta sorority and a varsity
cheerleader.
-
At some point in my career, I would welcome the opportunity to coach
cheerleading.
- Soon
after I left for college, my parents moved to Orlando, Florida.
I have enjoyed visiting them over the years and spending summers with my
family.
-
In the summer of my junior year, I worked at Walt Disney World as a
character performer. What
a “magical” experience!
- After
graduation in June of 2000, I continued my education at the graduate level
at Lehigh University earning a Masters Degree in Elementary
Education.
- I
have subsequently moved to Orlando, Florida to
begin my career!
Hobbies
and Activities I enjoy…
- I
am huge baseball fan and an even bigger fan of the New York METS!
- I
have a strong passion for Italy, which is my heritage. I still have family
there
and visited them two summers ago. I
cannot wait to go back again.
I am planning on taking Italian this coming spring.
I
love to travel and have had the opportunity to go to many wonderful places.
The last trip I took was to Seattle, Washington with my boyfriend in
August. We
had an amazing time hiking Mt. Rainier, whale watching, going to a Mariner’s baseball game, and kayaking in the San Juan Islands.
